A big thank you to Anastasia Zabaniotou, Fatma Ashour, and Moncef Ghiss for their valuable contributions during the Girona Manifesto meeting on #GreenEducation and the engagement of higher education in climate action.

Their interventions played a key role in guiding the discussions and shaping the outcomes of this important initiative.

On 26–27 June 2024, 45 academic leaders and experts from across the Mediterranean gathered in Girona, Spain, during the Mediterranean Green Week, to imagine a greener and more sustainable future for higher education.
Co-organized by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the University of Girona, and UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union, the event served as a platform to exchange best practices on the greening of curricula and officially launched the new Euromed University Initiative for Climate Action.

As part of this regional momentum, RMEIM proudly joins the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and UNIMED, in promoting the Girona Manifesto on Climate Action in the Mediterranean — a collective call for universities and research institutions to lead coordinated action toward a sustainable, just, and resilient Mediterranean region.
